WHO WE ARE
EMS Peer Support & Wellness Solutions (EMSPSWS) was founded through a partnership built on close to 100 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Our Board of Directors has firsthand experience in creating and maintaining effective, sustainable Peer Support programs within EMS and has seen the profound impact they can have on an organization’s overall health. We believe that First Responder organizations thrive when they offer both proactive support, through employee recognition and wellness initiatives, and reactive support, through Peer Support programs.
When Peer Support programs are financially supported to grow, innovate, and develop sustainable wellness initiatives, it positively affects an organization’s health, employee satisfaction, and productivity. We focus on programs that enhance physical and psychological well-being and foster community connection among EMS practitioners, including paramedics on the front lines and Emergency Communication Officers (ECOs) behind the scenes, in collaboration with allied first responder groups.
Our goal is to support and amplify the efforts of peer programs already doing meaningful work through volunteerism across the province, helping them create lasting, impactful change for those they serve.

Our Core Values
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. This land is the home and gathering place for many Indigenous Peoples, including the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), as well as the Métis people of Region 4. We recognize and honour the enduring connection Indigenous Peoples have to this land, and we commit to walking together in the spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
